This is a Temporary position that runs from October 13th, 2025, to November 25th, 2025. These dates are not flexible, and the candidate must be available during this time period. The scheduled shift is 9 pm to 7 am on a four-day on, four-day off rotation. If the temporary placement goes well, there may be an opportunity to continue on a casual basis.
Job Description
This position ensures the protection and preservation of Resort guests' and employees' property and maintains a safe and secure environment for everyone. You will be responsible for identifying and addressing breaches of Resort policies and procedures, as well as criminal activities. Maintain up-to-date and thorough knowledge of the resort's emergency and life safety procedures, and assist with any first aid needs, crowd control, building evacuations, power outages, and more. You will also provide excellent customer service by greeting guests, answering their questions, and sharing information about promotional events. Additionally, you will perform minor maintenance and repairs as requested and secure and log lost and found items.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a positive attitude, initiative, and adaptability/flexibility.
- Ability to plan and organize projects.
- Experience and knowledge in mechanical, plumbing, outside maintenance, landscaping, snow removal, shuttle service, and irrigation systems.
- Ability to work independently.
- Conflict resolution skills with the ability to deal with customers’ issues in a professional, courteous, and understanding manner even in difficult situations.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including graveyard shifts and weekends.
- Demonstrates a significant degree of knowledge in security practices, policies, and procedures
- Shows the ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to communicate effectively via radio.
- Possess the ability to analyze problems systematically by organizing information and identifying key factors and causes to generate solutions.
- Ability to conduct and precisely document comprehensive investigations.
- Knowledge of safety and first aid.
- Demonstrates a high level of tolerance and self-control.
Conditions of Employment:
Candidates must have a valid BST certificate, Level 1 First Aid, and class 5 British Columbia Driver’s License. The successful candidate will have experience in providing excellent customer service. Preference may be given to candidates who possess experience in Security. An acceptable combination of education, related training, and/or experience may be considered. You will be required to work both indoors and outdoors, at times through adverse conditions. You will be required to work night shifts, including weekends.
