What You Bring

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in business, communications, public relations, arts, or journalism or equivalent.
  • Related experience in relationship management, and professional communications.
  • High familiarity working with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
  • Demonstrated expository/business writing skills.

Experience working in a charity and in fundraising would be considered an asset.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Develop initiatives to recognize, honour, and steward Foundation donors.

  • Initiatives will include, but not be limited to, publications, web content, social media content, and special events.

  • Develop and implement fund development initiatives.

  • Help with the promotion and operation of the annual grant funding programs at Alberta post-secondary institutions.

  • Assist in the implementation of the annual Research Grant Fund program.

  • Contribute to the management of endowed funds, including scholarship administration, reports to donors, and oversight of funds.

  • Support Foundation special projects and participate in developing Foundation events.

  • In collaboration with community partners, advance Foundation-sponsored programs and initiatives.

  • Collaborate with other departments within CPA Alberta to support programming that aligns with the Foundation’s mandate and special projects.

  • Contribute to the preparation of quarterly reports to the Board.

  • Provide support to Hesje CPA Knowledge Centre activities by undertaking research and developing story/guest ideas for podcasts and other projects as required.

  • Liaise with post-secondary institutions on matters related to grants and funding.

  • Support the overall work of the Foundation as required, especially when it comes to Foundation-run events.

Working Specifications

CPA Calgary Chapter events provide an excellent opportunity to establish personal contact with CPA members and candidates.
