About the role

THE POSITION

You will join a remote, global engineering team building the platform that turns DNA into lifelong health intelligence. You will report to the Senior Manager of QA and partner closely with engineering, product, and design. You will own end-to-end quality validation across the platform, design and maintain automation frameworks from scratch, and drive quality strategy that helps the team ship faster without losing customer trust. Success means higher test coverage, fewer production issues, and a release process the company can rely on.

THE IMPACT

  • Own end-to-end quality validation for new features, releases, and production deployments.
  • Develop comprehensive testing strategies from business and technical requirements.
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable automated regression test suites (Playwright, Cypress, or equivalent).
  • Partner with engineering to grow test coverage and release confidence.
  • Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects through resolution.
  • Lead exploratory testing and call out risk areas and edge cases early.
  • Support CI/CD quality initiatives and automation integration so tests run on every deploy and block on failure.
  • Run API and integration testing across platform services using Postman or Swagger.
  • Improve QA processes, testing standards, and quality best practices.
  • Lead release readiness assessments and production validation.
  • Mentor junior QA engineers and raise overall QA maturity.
  • Communicate quality risks and trade-offs clearly to engineering and product across time zones.

DOMINANT AND EXPRESSED TRAITS

  • 5+ years of QA experience with strong manual testing expertise.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining automation frameworks from scratch.
  • Strong experience with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or equivalent tools.
  • Experience testing complex web-based applications in Agile environments.
  • API testing experience with Postman, Swagger, or similar tools.
  • Familiar with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems such as Bitbucket or Git.
  • Strong grasp of regression testing strategies and QA best practices.
  • Cross-functional collaboration experience.
  • Comfortable working remotely in a fast-moving startup environment.
  • E-commerce or checkout and payment workflow exposure is a plus.
  • Scripting in JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python is a plus.
  • Performance testing with k6 or JMeter is a plus.
  • Experience mentoring QA engineers is a plus.
  • Exposure to security or vulnerability validation testing is a plus.

About Sequencing

Biotechnology Research

Sequencing is building the lifelong home for every genome on Earth and the foundational platform for the AI-native genomic era.

The human genome is the world’s most valuable untapped resource and one of the defining datasets of the 21st century. Every person with DNA will need a trusted platform to store, interpret, and continuously benefit from their genomic data throughout their lifetime. Sequencing is building that platform.

As the world’s largest provider of clinical-grade whole genome sequencing (WGS) services, Sequencing has sequenced more whole genomes than any other company - creating the largest foundation for genomic intelligence and personalized health.

We combine whole genome sequencing, AI-powered interpretation, and a rapidly expanding ecosystem of genomic applications and integrations to transform DNA from a static file into a dynamic, continuously evolving source of actionable intelligence.

Our platform enables individuals, families, healthcare professionals, and other healthtech companies to unlock insights spanning disease prevention, inherited conditions, medication response, reproductive planning, wellness optimization, and longevity - turning the genome into each person's most valuable lifelong health asset.

We envision a future where genomic intelligence is deeply integrated into everyday life for billions of people, powering a new era of personalization, precision medicine, preventative healthcare, and human optimization.

We are a fully remote global company of doctors, scientists, engineers, AI researchers, and builders committed to making genomics accessible, actionable, and transformative for humanity.
