About the role

Recreation Facility (Arena) Operator (Casual)

The City of Martensville has an immediate opening for up to two (2) Casual Recreation Facility Operators specifically dedicated to the Martensville Sports Centre Arena.

GENERAL DUTIESRESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor, this position is responsible for facility and ice maintenance relating to the Martensville Sports Centre Arena.

HOURS OF WORK:

In support of the full-time arena staff, hours of work will be variable primarily including Saturdays 6 am to 3 pm, Sundays 3 pm to 10 or 11 pm, and other times backfilling full-time staff absences due to vacation, sick time, etc..

EDUCATION AND WAGES:

Minimum education required: Grade 12 diploma or GED

Wages: As per the CUPE LOCAL 2582 Collective Agreement:

  • Regular Rate: $25.04 / hour
  • Shift Differential $2.00 / hour for all hours worked Monday to Friday between 6 pm to 6 am and all weekend hours.

Martensville is a city located in Saskatchewan, Canada, just 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) north of Saskatoon, and 14 kilometres (8.7 mi) southwest of Clarkboro Ferry which crosses the South Saskatchewan River. It is a bedroom community of Saskatoon. It is surrounded by the Rural Municipality of Corman Park No. 344. The community is served by the Saskatoon/Richter Field Aerodrome located immediately west of the city across Highway 12.
