About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented System Administrator with strong hands-on experience in Windows Server administration, Exchange Online, VMware, and enterprise backup solutions . This role will focus primarily on day-to-day operational support, monitoring, troubleshooting, and system reliability , with opportunities to contribute to automation and infrastructure improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily operational support across Windows Server, VMware, Exchange Online, and backup environments .
- Perform monitoring, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis (RCA) for incidents affecting server, storage, or network systems.
- Manage backups and restore operations to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Support Exchange Online and Microsoft 365 (Teams, OneDrive, mailbox management, patching).
- Execute patching cycles across development, test, and production environments.
- Administer Active Directory and DNS for access and identity management.
- Collaborate with other IT teams (security, applications, networking, DevOps) on cross-functional issues.
- Maintain documentation, operational procedures, and compliance records .
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed.
- Identify and implement opportunities for automation and process improvement .
Key Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of progressive experience in System Administration roles.
- Proven expertise in:
- Windows Server administration (installation, configuration, patching, troubleshooting).
- Exchange Online / Microsoft 365 stack .
- VMware (vSphere, vCenter, ESXi).
- Backup solutions (Rubrik, Veritas, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, and Microsoft Entra ID .
- Familiarity with monitoring tools and ITSM platforms (ServiceNow or equivalent).
- Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
Nice-to-Have (Assets)
- Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
- Experience with identity and access management (Ping Federate, Azure MFA/SSPR).
- Knowledge of email security solutions (Barracuda, TrendMicro).
- Scripting/automation skills (PowerShell or similar).
