Biomedical Engineer

About the role

Rotation/Shifts Days, 8 hour shifts.

Responsibilities The Biomedical Engineer leads capital projects and contributes actively in lifecycle management of the diagnostic equipment under their portfolio

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably Biomedical Engineering;
  • Three years related experience, preferably within biomedical engineering in healthcare or industry environment.
  • Working knowledge of project management principles and experience with RFP;
  • Knowledge of engineering design principles, risk analysis methodologies (such as FMEA);
  • Advanced computer skills spreadsheets, databases, graphics, statistics, engineering tools;
  • Ability to effectively deal with competing priorities;
  • Commitment to meeting timelines and ability to manage concurrent, multidisciplinary projects;
  • Ability to diagnose and solve technical and/or system problems;
  • Excellent communication skills and ability including written and presentation skills
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master Degree in Biomedical or Clinical Engineering
  • Professional Engineering designation (P.Eng.) or working towards it.
  • Certification as a Clinical Engineer (CE)"
  • Extensive experience in delivering Diagnostic Imaging projects
  • Demonstrate understanding of image transfer and storage in Diagnostic Imaging field
  • Demonstrate understanding of BSP procurement directives
  • Experience in fleet management
  • Experience with contract review and correction
  • Understanding of Medical Device Cybersecurity Risk
  • Good interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, adaptability and result oriented
  • Work effectively in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Good project management skills and ability to manage tight deadline.
