Overall Accountability
Specialist, Employment Data, is responsible for the accurate and efficient flow of data and related information through the Human Capital Management System, PeopleSoft. The Specialist, Employment Data, manages information from various units in the department and directly from employees and supervisors, organizing, reviewing, corresponding, data managing and auditing pay effecting information within tight timelines.
Specific Accountabilities

Coordinates and maintains employment details in the Human Capital Management System, PeopleSoft; enters, edits and audits data ensuring compliance to procedures, pay cycle schedules, collective agreements and other terms of employment

Interprets terms of employment to produce employment contracts, calculates teacher experience, research benefit eligibility and quickly customizes procedures in response to business, technology and negotiated collective bargaining changes

Coordinates individual salary details including grid placement, increment schedules and related information such as performance reviews, employee and supervisor requests and labour relation requests

Promotes and engages in cross-training to ensure business continuity; as a valued teammate and mentor, provides support, advice and guidance to colleagues

Takes initiative to identify perceived inefficiencies and resolve emergent issues

Reviews and updates procedural documents.
Qualifications

High school diploma and relevant post-secondary education in People Services
-
One (1) to two (2) years’ experience working with integrated Human Capital Management Systems or PeopleSoft
-
Experience working in an educational or non-profit setting, in a multi-union environment preferred
-
Data management experience with a Human Capital Management System. Experience with PeopleSoft preferred

Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Exceptional attention to detail

Excellent multi-tasking skills including a demonstrated ability to organize, identify priorities and deliver results within short timelines
-
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and circumstances
-
Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive material with sound judgement and diplomacy
