About the role: Reporting to the State Queensland Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Financial Officer – Queensland Private Hospital’s role is pivotal in providing strategic and operational leadership for the Queensland Private Hospital’s corporate and financial governance. This leadership role will identify and implement strategies which positions St Vincent’s Private Hospitals for growth and stability, aligned with the current and future direction of the organisation.
In this role you will be responsible for delivering strategic, operational and risk management, financial advice to the Chief Executive Officer, QLD Private Hospitals; Private Division CEO; Private Division CFO along with helping lead the Private Division finance and commercial functions to ensure seamless high performance across all the different facets of the business.

- Permanent full-time position (38 hours per week)
- Ability to be based in either Toowoomba or Brisbane; travel between our hospitals is essential

What works for us:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Commence – CA or CPA is required
- Demonstrated leadership and proven success as a finance executive in a health focused organisation
- Experience in contributing to the development of financial strategy, as well as planning, implementation & evaluation
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management including capacity to engage and influence at all levels
- Experience in risk management at an executive level, and/or of managing a business with a strong business performance risk management culture
- Demonstrated ability to develop, prepare and present compelling insights, new concepts and major strategic decisions to the divisional executive
- Demonstrated ability to analyse and review financial outcomes, business performance and identify opportunities for improvement
- High level analytical and problem-solving skills– demonstrated ability to apply logic and structure to resolve complex problems
- An ability and commitment to promote our Catholic identity and work within the mission, vision and values of St Vincent’s Health Australia, the St Vincent’s Health Australia Code of Conduct and the Catholic Health Australia Code of Ethical Standards for Catholic Health and Aged Care Services in Australia
