Job Title: ER/LR Coordinator

Reports to: Manager, Labour Relations

Purpose of the Role The Employee and Labour Relations Coordinator handles grievance administration, provides collective bargaining support, policy interpretation, and ensuring compliance with labour laws, all to maintain positive, productive workplace relations. Thee ER/ER coordinator also advises on less complex performance challenges, administering disciplinary actions, and supporting negotiations.

Core Accountabilities

  • Grievance & Arbitration: Administering and supporting the handling of employee complaints, disputes, and arbitration files
  • Collective Bargaining: Assisting in the negotiation process and interpreting/applying the collective agreements.
  • Policy & Compliance: Guiding leaders on policies, legislation, and contract application.
  • Support: Providing confidential HR support, conduct research and prepare documents.
  • Stay updated on HR best practices and legal requirements
  • Proactively identify process inefficiencies and inconsistencies and collaborate toward an improved and more productive process that will enhance the overall team efficiency
  • Make suggestions for work flow and process improvements.
  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing service delivery.

Minimum Hiring Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or experience in related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in Employee and Labour Relations.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving ability.
  • Knowledge of labour law and employment legislation.
  • Detail-oriented, with good organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Superior organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to analyze data and identify trends or discrepancies.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive employee information.
