About the role

Manager, Revenue Accounting

Push the boundaries of tech. In your sweatpants**.**

We’re looking for an experienced Manager, Revenue Accounting who will be responsible for the technical accounting of revenue under US GAAP and IFRS, as well as partnering closely with the sales, operations, and pricing teams to ensure revenue processes are accurate, compliant, and aligned with business objectives. This individual will play a critical role in contract review, revenue recognition, process optimization, and internal controls related to revenue. This individual will support the monthly revenue close process, calculate appropriate adjustments to deferred revenue and post journal entries as appropriate.

The role requires a strong understanding of ASC 606, excellent technical accounting and communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across departments to support business decisions that impact accounting outcomes.

The top creative and technical minds could work anywhere. So why are so many of them choosing Alludo? Here are three reasons:

  • This is the moment. It’s an exciting time at Alludo, with new leadership, a refreshed brand, and a whole new approach to changing the way the world works. We’re at the forefront of a movement, and we want you to ride this wave with us.
  • We want you to be you**.** Too often, companies tell you about their culture and then expect you to fit it. Our culture is built from the people who work here. We want you to feel safe to be who you are, take risks, and show us what you’ve got.
  • It’s your world. We know you have a life. We want to be part of it, but not all of it. At Alludo, we’re serious about empowering people to work when, how, and where they want. Couch? Sweatpants? Cool with us. We believe that happy employees mean happy customers. That’s why we hire amazing people and get out of their way.

Sound good so far? Awesome. Let’s talk more about the role and see if we’re destined to be together.

THE ROLE:

  • Revenue Recognition & Technical Accounting
    • Review and interpret customer contracts to ensure compliance with ASC 606 / IFRS 15 revenue recognition principles.
    • Document accounting conclusions and support revenue-related memos.
    • Maintain and enhance frameworks and internal controls over revenue recognition.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with sales, operations, and pricing teams to evaluate new revenue arrangements, promotional programs, and pricing structures.
    • Advise cross-functional teams on accounting implications of revenue-related activities.
    • Support revenue accounting optimization initiatives and process improvements.
  • Financial Reporting & Compliance
    • Calculate and process monthly and quarterly adjusting journal entries related to revenue.
    • Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly revenue-related financials, reconciliations, and disclosures.
    • Support external and internal audits, including providing documentation and analysis of revenue transactions.
    • Monitor and implement changes in accounting standards relevant to revenue.
  • Process Improvement & Controls
    • Identify and recommend enhancements to revenue recognition processes and internal controls.
    • Contribute to the development of scalable systems and reporting tools to support revenue accounting.

YOU:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA designation (or equivalent), or working toward completion.
  • 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years focused on revenue accounting and ASC 606 application.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS.
  • Experience with revenue recognition in a high-tech, SaaS, or subscription priced business.
  • Prior experience collaborating with auditors on revenue-related matters.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Experience with ERP (NetSuite) and analytics tools such as Tableau or Looker is a plus.
