Opportunity
MacEwan University is seeking a Functional Analyst – Raiser's Edge for a full-time, continuing opportunity with our Alumni and Development department. You will be responsible for overseeing and improving the functionality of Raiser’s Edge, with a focus on maintaining data integrity and optimizing processes. This role includes supporting data entry, providing training, generating reports, and serving as a liaison with IT, Finance, and external vendors. Additionally, you will manage donor records, coordinate direct marketing efforts and list extractions, and prioritize internal data requests to advance Alumni and Development objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and enhancing Raiser’s Edge, including data imports/exports, data integrity, system security, user access, and query maintenance;
- Creating complex queries, data mining, and generating analytical reports to support fundraising campaigns, appeals, strategic decision-making and provide insight into donor and supporter data;
- Inputting and updating all constituent data, pledge reminders, donor invoices, media, and action items in Raiser’s Edge;
- Maintaining and producing event invitation mailing lists;
- Monitoring data quality through proactive audits, consistent formatting and quality control measure and resolving issues like duplication, inaccuracies, incompleteness and staleness;
- Leading and documenting the automation and improvement of fundraising processes, including system enhancements and workflow efficiencies aligned with industry standards and compliance;
- Contributing to projects related to Raiser's Edge, such as system upgrades, data migration, or process improvements;
- Developing and delivering training and support materials for Raiser’s Edge users as well as maintaining procedure manuals and assisting staff with interpreting data and resolving functional issues;
- Ensuring compliance with POPA, Alberta Privacy Act, and CASL; and
- Supporting end users, collaborating across departments, and leading discussions on software updates and system changes.
SKILLS
You will have:
- Proficiency in Raiser’s Edge, including queries, imports/exports, and reporting;
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management;
- Effective communicator with strong training and facilitation skills;
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills;
- The ability to lead projects and provide user support and training; and
- Familiarity with POPA, CRA receipting, and anti-spam legislation.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in business, information systems, communications or related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in Raiser’s Edge.
- Experience in process improvement, records management, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Membership in AFP, CAGP, or similar professional associations would be considered an asset.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
