Scope:
The Tax Administrator is responsible for supporting the Company’s global tax compliance and reporting activities. This role ensures the accurate and timely preparation of tax returns, filings, reconciliations, and related documentation. The Tax Administrator will also provide support in tax audits, assessments of global tax exposure, and transfer pricing compliance, while maintaining strong relationships with auditors, government authorities, and internal stakeholders.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare schedules and supporting information for income tax returns on a monthly and annual basis
- Review month-end tax provisions, including the timely preparation of monthly tax entries
- Assist with year-end tax reporting for financial statement purposes
- Review global tax account reconciliations on a monthly basis
- Prepare and review monthly VAT, HST, and QST filings
- Prepare and review annual VAT filings
- Assist with remittance of monthly withholding tax and filing of annual withholding tax returns (where applicable)
- Assist with preparation of informative returns globally
- Ensure timely tax filings and follow up with relevant government authorities as required
- Liaise with auditors and provide requested information
- Assist with the assessment of global tax exposure
- Support the preparation of global and local transfer pricing filings
Skills & Qualifications:
- Accounting designation or working towards completion
- 3+ years of relevant tax experience
- Superior time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, stay organized, and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make effective decisions and recommendations
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written), with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Advanced knowledge of Great Plains (ERP system) is an asset
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, etc.) is required
- Spanish language skills are an asset
