**Location:**Edmonton, Bell Tower | Work Model: Hybrid
The Opportunity
As a Environmental Technology Analyst, One Health, you will support and advance innovation that delivers economic, environmental, and social benefits for Alberta. This role supports programs and projects that catalyze adoption of emerging technologies and accelerate innovation across key sectors. The Environmental Technology Analyst will work within Environmental Innovation, contributing to a sustainable Alberta through collaboration, program delivery, and ecosystem leadership. A background in an environmental related field, such as water, land and/or biodiversity, is required for this position.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for duties that will include:
Client Support for Applications and Projects
- Provide effective program and project development support to innovators, industry partners, and stakeholders.
- Manage funded projects within the assigned focus area to advance technology/innovation development and adoption.
- Monitor project performance, timelines, budgets, and outcomes, ensuring compliance with internal and external reporting requirements.
- Recommend expenditures within approved budgets and explain variances as required.
Ecosystem Leadership
- Support the development, evaluation, and implementation of innovative initiatives and strategic objectives.
- Gather and analyze business intelligence, industry best practices, and emerging trends to inform decision making.
- Foster collaborative relationships with universities, research organizations, industry, and other stakeholders.
- Represent Alberta Innovates and promote strategic priorities at conferences, workshops, and external events.
Organizational Effectiveness
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities and contribute to solutions that enhance organizational effectiveness.
- Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to deliver innovation initiatives and shared priorities.
- Provide subject matter expertise and advice to leadership and senior management as required.
Qualifications and Skills
Required
- Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in science, engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in a relevant field supporting or managing research, innovation, or technology focused programs and projects.
- Familiarity with Alberta’s social, economic, environmental, and technological priorities.
- Strong planning, organizing, and problem solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively.
- Ability to understand and interpret complex technical information and continuously expand technical knowledge.
- Experience working collaboratively in team based and multi stakeholder environments.
- Creative, strategic, and analytical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across industry, academia, and government.
