About the role
The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to help establish Technology & Data Centre of Excellence (CoE) within Portfolio Solutions, driving digital transformation and data-driven value creation across our global investment portfolio. As Managing Director of Data Platforms, you will establish and scale a portfolio-wide data platforms capability within the Technology & Data CoE, helping portfolio companies strengthen the data foundations required for faster, higher-confidence decision-making.
You will set “what good looks like” in a practical, business-oriented way—creating repeatable standards, playbooks, and light governance that reduce friction and risk. The mandate is to make data easier to trust and easier to use, enabling measurable value creation while supporting stronger portfolio monitoring and exit readiness.
Who you will work with
You will report to the Head of Technology & Data CoE and partner closely with Portfolio Solutions, asset management teams, value creation partners, and deal teams. You will work directly with portfolio company executives and functional leaders (e.g., CTO, CDO, CFO) to align data priorities to business outcomes and execution plans.
You’ll also collaborate with other Centres of Excellence (e.g., GTM, Cost, Talent, Exits & Financing) to ensure data platforms enable broader value creation, and engage external advisors and delivery partners as needed to scale impact across the portfolio.
What you’ll do
- Lead data platforms across the investment lifecycle, from diligence through post-close execution—assessing data maturity and risk, shaping 100‑day plans, and building durable data and analytics capabilities aligned to value creation plans.
- Define and scale “what good looks like” for data platforms across the portfolio by establishing practical reference architectures, standards, and patterns that flex by sector, size, and maturity.
- Translate assessments into action, converting complex current-state environments into clear, sequenced roadmaps tied to measurable business outcomes.
- Strengthen data foundations by improving data quality, consistency, integration, and ownership—making data easier to trust and easier to use.
- Set lightweight, value-oriented data governance, balancing speed and control while supporting regulatory, privacy, and operational risk needs without over-engineering.
- Enable better decision-making by partnering with management teams to focus on high-impact decisions (e.g., pricing, retention, cost-to-serve, operational efficiency) and ensuring the underlying data is decision-grade.
- Build scalable analytics capabilities, including trusted dashboards, self-serve reporting, and clearly defined metrics aligned to how the business is run.
- Advance future readiness, establishing data strategies that naturally enable advanced analytics and responsible AI as extensions of strong data foundations.
What you’ll need
- 15+ years of experience in senior data, analytics, or technology leadership roles across consulting, private equity value creation, or complex operating environments.
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Relevant certifications in data, analytics, or modern data platforms are preferred.
- Proven track record of improving fragmented data foundations and governance in complex organizations with multiple systems, inconsistent metrics, and unclear ownership.
- Experience working with C‑suite leaders and boards, translating technical topics into clear decisions, trade-offs, and measurable outcomes.
- Experience supporting both pre‑investment assessment and post‑investment execution in time‑constrained, outcome‑driven settings.
- Deep, practical expertise in data platforms and analytics, including data architecture, governance, and analytics enablement in real operating environments.
- Strong value creation mindset, with the ability to connect data capabilities to growth, cost reduction, and risk management—and to measure progress credibly.
- Hands-on knowledge of modern data ecosystems (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift, Microsoft Fabric), with the ability to clearly articulate trade-offs related to cost, scalability, security, and time-to-value.
- Familiarity with private equity and investment value creation contexts, including portfolio-wide standards, time-bound roadmaps, and a focus on measurable outcomes.
What we’re offering

- Comprehensive employer paid benefits coverage
- Retirement income through a defined benefit pension plan

- A flexible work environment combining in office collaboration and remote working
