Daycare Manager - Sts'ailes Early Education Centre

The Sts’ailes Early Education Centre (SEEC) is currently seeking a Daycare Manager to join their team.

SEEC provides early learning and childcare services with programming that integrates the six

components of Aboriginal Head Start: Education, Culture and Language, Nutrition, Family Involvement,

Health Promotion and Social Support.

**Position Summary: **

Reporting to the Director of Education, the SEEC Daycare Manager will oversee the daily operations,

programming and assessment of early learning as well as the successful transition of children within

SEEC programming into the K-12 education system.

The SEEC Daycare Manager will be required to be a strong and dynamic leader who is able to implement

best practices in early learning and is able to lead, support and coach staff effectively.

The SEEC daycare manager is a permanent full-time position.

Qualifications and Requirements:

1. In good standing with Sts’ailes

2. Early Childhood Education (ECE) Diploma is required, a bachelor’s degree in child and Youth

Care, or closely related field is preferred

3. A minimum of five (5) years of relevant childcare experience in combination with a minimum of

three (3) years of management experience

4. Demonstrated ability to ensure a safe environment within SEEC including conducting inspections

and adhering to health, safety and licensing standards

5. Demonstrated ability to direct the daily operations of SEEC including, but not limited to,

scheduling, facility maintenance and compliance with Provincial regulations such as Childcare

Licensing Regulations in BC as well as the BC Early Learning Framework

6. Demonstrated ability to hire, train, mentor, supervise and provide leadership to early childhood

educators and other SEEC staff

7. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with families and build partnerships with

community-based resources

8. Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, process childcare subsidies as well as managing enrollment and registration in collaboration with the Director of Education.

9. Demonstrated ability to support the development of age-appropriate engaging and inclusive

educational activities in collaboration with the Director of Education.

10. Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License with access to reliable transportation

11. Valid First Aid and CPR certification

12. Clear Criminal Record Check for working with Children
