26/27 CTS Construction Teacher (Competition #T2526-0147)
About the role
Assignment:
- Part-time 0.28 FTE probationary teaching position
- Course load to include: High School Construction/Carpentry
- Two blocks for one semester of the school year (to be determined)
- Duties will commence on either August 26, 2026 (semester 1) or February 1, 2027 (semester 2), dependent on the successful candidates availability
Qualifications:

Preference given to a Journeyperson in construction/carpentry

Industry connection: bridging the gap between the classroom and the workforce
-
Ability to explain complex blueprints in a clear and manageable way
-
Ability to manage a shop environment
-
Teach safety routines with the shop equipment in order to ensure the safety of all students
-
Experience teaching in a Junior/Senior High school would be considered an asset Ability to utilize varied instructional strategies and to differentiate in order to meet a wide range of individual needs

Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills
-
Willingness to work in an active, team-oriented learning environment and be a positive team member
-
Ability to teach in a flexible learning environment

Passionate about teaching and ensuring belief in every student

Ability to effectively integrate technology and an understanding of 21st Century Learning Skills

Assessment literate An understanding of High School Redesign Principals, the Collaborative Response Model, and Differentiation would be considered an asset

Effective classroom management
