About Us
The Undergraduate Recruitment and Admissions Department aims to provide the Best Student Experience to prospective students from the initial point of interest in undergraduate programs at Western, through the information gathering, application and admission processes.
Responsibilities
The Senior Student Tour Guide will participate in the planning, training, organizing, problem solving and daily operations of the campus tour service. The incumbent will participate in the updating of the tour guide manual, interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling and evaluation of guides. The incumbent leads monthly tour guide meetings and schedules special tours during the academic year. The Senior Student Tour Guide will also collaborate in the planning, organization, and execution of tour guide components of the Fall Preview Day and the March Break Open House recruitment events, and may attend the Ontario Universities' Fair as a representative for Western.
Qualifications
Eligibility Requirement:
-
1 year of experience as a campus tour guide
-
Must be a full time student at Western (enrolled in minimum 3.5 courses), and expect to retain full-time student status for the duration of this appointment (2026-2027 academic year)

Customer service experience preferred
Skills, Abilities & Expertise:
- Knowledge of Western's campus and the admissions process
- Above average knowledge and awareness of on-campus activities and events
- Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver information in a clear and positive manner
- Strong public speaking and public relations skills
- Passionate with the ability to provide a positive first impression and be an ambassador for Western
- Ability to relate well to students and their parents
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others particularly in a leadership capacity
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain a positive, outgoing attitude, with genuine customer service orientation
- Ability to foster teamwork and encourage team members to learn from each other
- Proven ability and natural inclination to develop relationships by interacting with people in a professional, respectful and diplomatic manner
- Professional and enthusiastic, with the ability and desire to promote Western
