About this role:

As a Graphic Designer at Kelly Funeral Home - Barrhaven Chappel located in Nepean, Ontario, you will play a vital role in supporting families by creating high-quality printed materials that honor and commemorate their loved ones.

Reporting to the Funeral Home Manager, you will be responsible for the operation of the print centre, ensuring the timely and accurate production of memorial print materials, including prayer cards, register books, and other essential documents. Your expertise in graphic design and print production will contribute to a meaningful and professional experience for the families we serve.

Job Type: Part Time, Permanent (20-24 hours/week to start)

Vacancy Status: This is a current vacancy, and we are actively seeking to fill this position.

Key Qualifications and Demonstrated Abilities:

  • Graphic Design Diploma or equivalent.
  • Advanced knowledge Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Quark, InDesign).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of Video editing or slideshow making software.
  • General knowledge of Print design.
  • Familiarity with multifunctional printers.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and consistently high level of accuracy.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; verbal, written and presentation.
  • Demonstrates strong customer service skills with the ability to partner will all levels of the organization.
  • Exemplifies Arbor’s values of integrity, trust, teamwork, belonging and excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Creates a variety of Funeral Home related print media, including prayer cards, register books and price lists.
  • Scans and creates slideshow videos.
  • Monitors print centre supplies and places orders for required supplies.
  • Administers the delivery and logistics of print centre items.
  • Performs photo & video editing.
  • Greets client families as they enter the funeral home.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required.
