About the role
Job Summary:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and responsible *Summer Day Camp Counsellor * to join our team! In this role, you will supervise and lead fun, age-appropriate daily activities for children aged 5?13, while ensuring a safe and inclusive environment. You will also support administrative duties, weekly planning, and field trip coordination.
*Note: 30 minute breaks will be taken but not paid
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead activities including crafts, swimming, outdoor fun and etc.
- Create and manage weekly schedules
- Supervise campers and maintain a positive, safe environment
- Complete administrative tasks such as copying, printing, and document organization
- Plan and supervise off-site field trips and transportation
- Manage daily sign-in/sign-out for campers and staff
- Communicate clearly with parents and camp staff
- Maintain consistent health and safety protocols
Qualifications:
- Must be between 16 to 29 years old (as per funding requirements)
- Experience working with children (ages 5?13) is required
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willing to obtain before camp starts)
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to supervise children in both indoor and outdoor settings.
Job Type: Seasonal Contract length: 6 weeks
Pay: $17.60 per hour
Flexible language requirement:
- French not required
