Partnership Development Manager (Western Canada)

Status: 6-month contract (temporary leave of absence coverage)

Location: Calgary, Alberta or surrounding areas within Alberta.

Reports to: Senior Director, Partnerships

Salary Range: From CAD $80,000 - $90,000 annually depending on the level of experience the candidate has.

  • The ICC offers a 10% premium for candidates who are bilingual in English & French.

The ICC head office is in downtown Toronto, with some team members working remotely in various locations. We have satellite offices in Ottawa and continue to grow across Canada.

About the Role:

As the Partnership Development Manager , you will play a pivotal role in growing and nurturing the ICC’s ecosystem of corporate and regional partners. Reporting to the Senior Director, Partnerships, you will lead partnership acquisition and management across corporate accounts, the Alberta and British Columbia regions, and select Calgary-based relationships.

This is a dynamic, relationship driven role for someone who thrives at the intersection of sales, strategy, and impact. You will help shape how the ICC collaborates with organizations that support newcomers, strengthen Canoo membership value, and drive revenue growth through meaningful, mutually beneficial partnerships. If you enjoy building connections, crafting creative partnership solutions, and contributing to national impact, this role offers an exciting opportunity to make a difference.

This position includes regular in-person meetings with partners across Alberta and requires travel up to 25% of the time , including occasional travel to British Columbia and national ICC events.

What you’ll love about this role / responsibilities:

  • New Business Development
  • Lead the full partnership sales cycle, from prospecting and outreach to proposals, negotiations, and closing deals.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of corporate, regional, and in-kind partnership opportunities.
  • Develop creative partnership concepts using market insights and research to align partner goals with ICC initiatives and newcomer audiences.
  • Account Management
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of corporate and regional partners.
  • Manage agreements, SLAs, KPIs, and renewal terms to deliver strong results for both ICC and partners.
  • Lead consistent partner meetings, including regular in person meetings across Alberta, to share updates, explore new opportunities, and build long-term relationships.
  • Transition select partners to account management colleagues once signed, ensuring seamless service and continuity.
  • Revenue & Member Engagement Growth
  • Support revenue growth by promoting ICC’s paid services, initiatives, and brand integrations.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities that drive Canoo member engagement and add value to newcomers.
  • Build partnerships that enhance Canoo benefits and contribute to ICC’s growth model.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, insights & ideation, philanthropy and product, to develop and execute high impact partnership initiatives.
  • Reporting & Analysis
  • Monitor and evaluate partnership performance using data and analytics.
  • Prepare insights driven reports that summarize achievements, KPIs, and future opportunities.
  • Use performance data and partner feedback to refine acquisition and retention strategies.

What we’re looking for in the perfect candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field preferred.
  • Experienced in tourism sector, corporate funding or government funding is preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in partnership account management, corporate sponsorship, or related roles.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in marketing execution, design, content creation or related roles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a talent for building and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools, CRM software, and analytics platforms.

Strategic capabilities:

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven track record of managing corporate accounts and delivering on contractual commitments.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proven ability to co-ordinate successful projects between members of multiple teams.
  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Creative and analytical mindset, with experience in marketing analytics.
  • Excellent copywriting, editing, research and proofreading skills

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Understanding of Canadian newcomer journeys and barriers to integration.
  • Proven experience writing effective sales copy in a D2C environment.
  • Solid understanding of SEO principles, tactics and tools.
  • Bilingual (English and French).
  • Experience working with nonprofit, government-funded, or public-interest brands.
