About the role
Are you an experienced and highly skilled Erection Superintendent with extensive experience overseeing and managing critical aspects of construction related activities? In this role, you will be responsible for the direction and management of the personnel and activities related to the operation and maintenance of one of the proprietary launching gantry girders that will be used to erect the precast concrete segments for this project. You will levarage your technical background, excellent leadership skills, and ability to coordinate effectively with composite crews to ensure high-quality project delivery.

What You Will Be Doing
- Manage, direct and coordinate personnel and activities relating to the overhead launching gantry girder—including, but not necessarily restricted to onsite equipment assembly, load testing, launching, erection of segments, post-tensioning, load transfer, equipment maintenance, etc.
- Provide training to and performance testing of local equipment operators (and ancillary personnel) on all relevant processes, methodologies, best practices and safety requirements relating to the assembly, commissioning and operation of the overhead launching gantry girder equipment, and enforcement of all applicable safety requirements and specifications.
- Provide training to maintenance personnel on the maintenance and repair of overhead launching gantry girder equipment, including the replacement of components and seeking technical advice directly from engineering department
- Develop, implement and enforce short-term schedules for equipment supervisors and operators, identification and reporting of operational, scheduling and other issues
- Establish and maintain good relations with all the Unions involved on the Job, coordination the manpower hiring process, and manage all conflicts that could occur on the daily operations.
- Coordinate with Quality Control Manager to clarify project specifications and perform erection works according to the project design documents and quality control plan.
- Oversee precast deck segments transport and erection, PT (bars and cables) installation.
- Coordinate with different departments, Field Engineer and subcontractors involved within the specified segment.
- Confer with and directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
- Ensureconstruction is in accordance with its defining documents (i.e. plans, standards, Work Methods, etc.).
- Generate necessary reports and directly communicates with clients/subcontractors on project sites (ensuring all parties are well informed of the process/production status).
- Involvement in in pre-construction estimates and budgets. As the project progresses, we will monitor expenses to ensure that they are meeting budget and Work Plans, informing the Project Controller.
- Communicate with project team regarding material submittals.
- Ensure that each subcontractor is fully executing and complying with his contracted scope of work.
- Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions.
- Ensure all foreman, laborers and subcontractors are working safely, following safety, health and environmental quality standards, identifying non-compliance if any.
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor’s in construction management/civil engineering or a relevant field would be considered an asset
- Minimum 8 years of experience in construction trades, including precast erection (positions such as foreman or lead)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in direct supervisory or lead role
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Leadership, interpersonal, and communication abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
