HONOURING OUR JOURNEY - Office Administrator

New Directions is a social service agency offering a wide range of resources and services that foster people’s hopes and dreams and their communities.

Honouring Our Journey is a transition, healing and education program for youth, adults, and transgender individuals who have been exploited/trafficked through the sex trade.

Divided into three programs – youth, mentor, and adult – all programs offer opportunities and supports for healing, personal development, and growth.

Responsibilities Include but not are not limited to:

  • Administrative support to the Honouring Our Journey team
  • Developing and maintaining spreadsheets and Word documents
  • Scheduling meetings
  • Maintaining calendars
  • Creating, maintaining and discharging files
  • Taking and transcribing meeting minutes
  • Reception duties
  • Credit card/bank card/petty cash reconciliation
  • Typing correspondence, reports and statistics
  • Greeting participants and guests

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office 365
  • Minimum typing speed of 60 w.p.m.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience providing general office administrative support
  • Exceptional organizational skills and be detailed-oriented
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

The salary range for this 70 hour bi-weekly position is $18.31 to $24.72 per hour (equivalent to $33,324 to $44,990 per annum), dependent upon education and/or experience of the successful candidate. A full benefits package (which includes Health and Dental Benefits, Long Term Disability Benefits, and a Pension Plan) is provided to regular full-time staff.

The successful candidate will be subject to Criminal Record, Child/Adult Abuse Registry, and Prior Contact checks; and must supply a current driver’s abstract.

These include everything from day programs to 24/7 staffed in-home settings for both adults and children. We also offer cultural and educational programs, job training, therapy, and clinical and counselling services.

We support children, teens, and adults in Winnipeg and Western Manitoba. Individuals may have an intellectual or physical disability. Or they may use American Sign Language to communicate.
