We are hiring a permanent full-time Manager, Business Intelligence in Edmonton, AB!
The Manager, Business Intelligence leads the development and governance of integrated information systems that support asset management, risk, and performance across our Electricity Distribution and Transmission business unit. This role is pivotal in transforming prototypes into production systems, facilitating enterprise risk management, and reporting system reliability to internal and external stakeholders. You will also guide a team of technical experts while collaborating across business units and with peer utilities.
What you’d be responsible for
- Develop long-term strategic plans (up to 5 years) aligned with EPCOR’s business objectives
- Build and lead a high-performing team, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, performance metrics, and employee development
- Oversee asset and work management systems, ensuring alignment with standards and integration of best practices across EDTI
- Manage cloud-based analytics and geospatial systems to deliver actionable insights; represent EDTI on AI and data governance committees
- Develop and manage KPI dashboards that enhance the governance of the Asset Management system
- Lead outage reporting and reliability analysis; represent EPCOR on national reliability forums and address customer escalations
- Serve as EDTI Risk Officer, facilitating quarterly reviews and managing change processes with risk-based prioritization
- Lead governance and planning for GIS, asset management, and analytics systems; collaborate with Corporate IT and external partners
- Address emerging issues, revise processes, and lead cross-functional teams to implement solutions
- Drive productivity enhancements through analytics, decision-making tools, and process optimization
What’s required to be successful
- Degree in Civil, Electrical or Computer Engineering, Information Systems Professional (ISP), and/or Professional Engineer designation
- Specialized training in asset management such as: RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance), PAS55 or ISO55000, SMRP, etc.
- 10+ years of experience in implementing Asset Management practices and computerized maintenance management systems
- Training in project management is preferred
- Ability to deliver results, plan and organize work and people, develop and meet schedules, develop budgets, and meet quality requirements
- Strong analytical skills with expertise in managing large datasets and applying Six Sigma for data-driven insights
- Demonstrated capability to analyze issues, solve problems, and make effective decisions
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills to all levels of staff and management.
- Demonstrated leadership in change management and team development
- Ability to develop and execute long-term strategic plans and budgets
- High integrity, collaboration, and a commitment to learning and continuous improvement
