Job Title: AWS Solution Architect
Experience: 6 to 12 Years
Location: Toronto, Canada (Hybrid)
Job Type: Full-time (Contract)
Join our customer's team as an AWS Solution Architect working on a high-impact, multi-year project with Roche . In this role, you will design and implement secure, scalable, and cost-optimized AWS cloud architectures supporting enterprise healthcare technology initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity to apply deep AWS expertise on a project with global impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and architect end-to-end AWS cloud solutions focused on scalability, security, and high availability.
- Utilize core AWS services such as EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, Lambda, RDS, CloudFront, Route 53, API Gateway, and DynamoDB .
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation or Terraform .
- Architect microservices and containerized applications leveraging ECS, EKS, and Docker .
- Implement CI/CD pipelines using AWS DevOps tools ( CodePipeline, CodeBuild ).
- Optimize cloud workloads for cost, performance, reliability, and security.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and maintain detailed technical documentation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 6+ years of IT experience with strong hands-on AWS cloud architecture background.
- Proven experience leading enterprise-scale AWS projects.
- Expertise in AWS core services, networking (VPC, subnets, SGs, NACLs, ELBs), Lambda, DynamoDB, and IaC (CloudFormation/Terraform).
- Strong experience with microservices, Docker, and container orchestration via ECS/EKS .
- Solid understanding of CI/CD, DevOps practices, and automation.
- Strong knowledge of AWS security best practices (KMS, Secrets Manager, WAF).
- Excellent communication, documentation, and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional .
- Experience with long-term enterprise or healthcare domain projects.
- Familiarity with AWS monitoring tools such as CloudWatch , X-Ray , or third-party APM solutions.
