Responsibilities
As the Communications and Program Assistant, you will play a key role in creating and sharing engaging content across multiple platforms to strengthen our BioNext brand, connect with diverse audiences, and support our strategic goals. You will also assist in delivering BioNext programs, gaining hands-on experience in communications, marketing, design, and program coordination.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in programming and marketing projects by developing marketing materials and supporting documents.
- Utilize Adobe Creative Suite and MailChimp to create visually appealing graphics aligned with our brand across social media, websites, and email campaigns.
- Work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, supporting team members in various tasks and projects.
- Manage social media pages by drafting, proposing, and creating content to schedule and post.
- Develop and deliver engaging content, including web copy, social media posts, newsletters, marketing collateral, and more.
- Support day-to-day marketing needs.
- Assist with event planning and post-event data collection.
Qualifications:
- Experience with Microsoft Office, MailChimp
- Copywriting and editing experience is a plus
- Both Graduate and Undergraduate students are invited to apply.
Education:
- Must be a full time student at Western (enrolled in minimum 3.5 courses), and expect to retain full-time student status for the duration of this appointment
Experience, Skills, Knowledge & Ability:
- Experience developing videos, articles, website, and social media content.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Professional demeanour.
- Responsible, adaptable, and eager to learn, showing initiative.
- Ability to multitask, determine priorities, and work with deadlines.
- Competent in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Competent with various online social networks (Twitter, LinkedIn).
- Candidates currently enrolled in FIMS programs are strongly encouraged to apply.
