Here’s the job opportunity…

As the Data Strategy and Governance Lead, IT Data Analytics & Integration at ivari, you will provide enterprise-wide leadership on data strategy and governance to drive a data-driven culture across the organization, working with leaders to reduce data silos, ensure compliance, and maximize the value of data across our life insurance operations. In this role you will:

  • Define and execute the enterprise-wide data strategy aligned with company goals and growth priorities
  • Lead a dynamic Data Product team with key stakeholders across business units to gather data analytics requirements and assist in prioritizing, understanding business requirements and providing effective data solutions that deliver actionable insights to strengthen data-driven decision making.
  • Lead the enterprise data governance framework, ensuring that our data practices comply with industry regulations, internal policies, and best practices.
  • Champion enterprise adoption of unified data platform (Microsoft Fabric), standards, and common taxonomies to enable consistency and trust in data.
  • Foster data-driven practices, AI and advanced analytics.
  • Maintain knowledge and expertise of current industry trends, standards, and best practices in the areas of modern data platforms, AI and data governance.

What we are looking for…

  • 7 – 10 years of experience in enterprise data strategy and data governance, ideally in financial services or life insurance.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Management, Computer Science, Data Science or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of life insurance business domains (product, underwriting, sales, finance, operations).
  • Experience with cloud data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Snowflake, or Databricks.
  • Proficiency in metadata management, master data management, data catalogs, and data lineage.
  • Deep knowledge of data governance frameworks (DAMA, DCAM, or similar).
  • Expertise in data governance, data quality, and compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business terms.
  • Strong strategic thinker with ability to translate data strategy into execution and build data-driven culture.

The following while not a requirement would be considered an asset:

  • Familiarity with data governance tools such as Microsoft Purview.
  • Experience with Data Science, AI and Analytics.
  • LOMA certification is an asset.
  • Certifications in data analytics, Microsoft Azure or data governance frameworks.
