About the role

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager of Health Services, the Dietitian is responsible and accountable to provide competent, safe and ethical professional practice to the patient/client, family, and community. The dietitian advises on nutrition and food using the nutrition care process in achieving patient/client centered care. The dietitian is part of the inter-professional team and is responsible to provide leadership in team efforts to support the nutritional health of the patient, client/community through health promotion, disease prevention, treatment, support and rehabilitation.

As a member of the inter-professional team the dietitian contributes to client care through collaboration with health care team providers, sharing nutrition expertise, ensuring quality and continuity of care and supporting a range of health care services. These services are provided within a holistic, client centered framework in accordance with our mission, vision, values, and strategic direction.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelor’s of Science degree with major in Nutrition/Dietetics
  • Three (3) to five (5) years' recent related experience in an acute care/community setting
  • Completion of an approved Dietetic internship
  • Current registration (or eligibility) with the Nova Scotia Dietetic Association (NSDA) is required
  • Eligible for membership with the Dietitians of Canada

  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
