The Analyst, Derivatives Operations - Extended-Hours is accountable for ensuring complete and timely processing as well as support for CDCC Clearing Members in areas such as:
Post-Trade Derivatives Clearing and Settlement Services, Reporting, and Analysis; Margin and collateral processing (cash and securities); Banking & Settlement, including End-of-Day final settlements with payment processing; Customer Support during the overnight clearing cycles.
Reports to: Manager, Business Operations - Extended Hours
Job Location: This position is 100% remote. Shift Schedule: Must be available to work a 7.5-hour rotating shift to be performed between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m. from Sunday night to Friday morning.
Key Accountabilities
Client Support & Advisory: Act as the primary point of contact for matters related to Collateral, Clearing, and Banking & Settlements to ensure effective, timely, and efficient client support is provided to all Clearing Members. Collateral & Margin Monitoring: Monitor collateral requirements, including the collection of intra-night margin calls via cash or securities pledges, to ensure obligations are met in a timely manner. Settlement & Payment Processing: Monitor payment processing and ensure the successful completion of end-of-day settlement processing so that Clearing Members' settlement obligations are met on time. Reconciliation & Analysis: Perform daily reconciliations and detailed analysis of collateral Cash accounts with CDCC Settlement Banks. Operational Execution: Support Business Operations processing for all products and services made available to Clearing Members. Exchange Support: Assist the Montreal Exchange with trade and position management needs. Risk & Business Continuity: Support the Business Continuity Program, Disaster Recovery Program, Default Simulation, and other operational testing exercises. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interact regularly with IT, Client Services, Risk, Market Operations, and other internal departments. Compliance & Control: Adhere strictly to internal procedures, rules, audit requirements, and internal controls verification processes. Continuous Improvement: Recommend impactful changes to existing operational processes, services, and procedures to ensure excellent customer service within an efficient and effective environment. Special Projects: Assist with various team projects and special assignments as required.
Must Have(s)
Education: Post-Secondary education in Commerce, Business Administration, Finance, and/or Accounting is preferred. Industry Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of experience in the Securities Financial Industry. Operational Knowledge: Solid experience and knowledge in Operations processes or Securities Accounting within the Securities Financial Industry. Domain Expertise: Solid level of technical and analytical knowledge regarding Collateral, Clearing, Banking, and Settlements processes, systems, and capabilities. Communication: Effective listening, written, and verbal communication skills. Problem-Solving: Solid technical and analytical skills with the ability to propose operational solutions and solve moderately complex problems specific to a project or assignment. Organization & Autonomy: Solid interpersonal and organization skills with a demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, and work with minimum supervision as an adaptable team player. Detail Orientation: Oriented to deliver work with high accuracy and clear, concise details in a time-sensitive environment. Technical Proficiency: Strongly proficient with Google Suite, Excel, and other desktop applications. Adaptability: Flexibility required to perform successfully in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment with tight deadlines.
