Job Description

De Beers Group has an opportunity within the Protective Services Department at the Yellowknife Office, Northwest Territories for a highly motivated Surveillance Analyst. Reporting to the PSOC Supervisor the incumbent will be involved in all stages of the collection, review and reporting of remote video surveillance for De Beers Canada. The ideal candidate is efficient, with a strong attention to detail.

Key responsibilities

Conducting real-time and pattern based surveillance of the high risk areas within De Beers Canada’s mining operations; Collecting, analyzing and presenting digital evidence in support of security and loss prevention investigations; Assisting in employing predictive analysis in efforts to identify possible vulnerabilities and deploying subsequent security loss prevention enforcement tactics; Continuously collecting and analyzing operational data to identify trends and potential “red flags” for further investigations; and Summarizing and communicating the meaning and significance of surveillance results through presentations or written reports. Assisting with the security of the PSF which includes but not limited to opening the building, opening vaults, clearing rooms, and investigating spills.

This is a Yellowknife based Monday – Friday Position

Qualifications Preference given to members of the Deninu Kué, Lutsel K’e Dene First Nation, North Slave Métis Alliance, Northwest Territory Métis Nation, Tlicho Government, or Yellowknives Dene First Nation and residents of the NWT; Undergraduate degree in Criminology or a related field of study OR five (5) years of related experience as an Intelligence Surveillance Analyst or equivalent; Two (2) years’ experience conducting surveillance duties; A minimum of two (2) years’ experience researching, writing analyzing and editing documents; Proficiency is using open source and social media intelligence gathering methods; Knowledge of the Intelligence Cycle; Understanding of the security principles of Threat Risk Assessments, Access Control Systems and Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED); Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite of programs; Professional certification related to security or a member of a professional body is an asset; and May be required to travel to Gahcho Kue Mine site.
