Now hiring! RetailConnect Sales Manager Calgary, AB or Remote We are looking for a RetailConnect Sales Manager to join our Agricultural Solutions team in Canada.

As RetailConnect Sales Manager, you will report to the Manager, Channel Strategy and lead a team of 9 to drive distribution strategies for seed and crop protection across independent retailers in Western Canada. You will represent BASF to key business leaders, align retail partners with company goals, and shape strategic business and financial plans. This role manages relationships across a network generating over $700M CAD in annual net sales and focuses on accelerating revenue growth and strengthening collaboration with independent retailers.

As a RetailConnect Sales Manager, you create chemistry by...

  • Leading the RetailConnect Sales team (RCAM) and directing the ongoing implementation of BASF’s strategy with independent retailers, including strategic business and financial planning, people management, execution, and internal communications.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with key customers (Independents and Area Business Managers), communicating BASF’s strategy, and ensuring partner alignment with company objectives.
  • Coaching and mentoring RCAM team members and supporting their ongoing personal development planning.
  • Driving financial results for the segment by improving forecast accuracy, delivering POG with Territory Managers, managing sales net of returns, and overseeing inventory.
  • Serving on the Sales Leadership team and partnering across the sales and commercial organization — including Marketing and Regional Sales Managers — to implement initiatives and provide leadership.

If you have...

  • A Bachelor’s degree in business, agricultural business or a related discipline or equivalent years of experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in sales, marketing and/or account management experience.
  • Dedicated experience (3 years minimum) of people management preferred with proven leadership skills and a track record of guiding and developing team leaders.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the agriculture industry (crop protection and/or seed) with in-depth knowledge of the independent retailer market, including supplier, channel partner, and grower relationships.
  • Proven experience in sales, marketing, and strategy development, with a solid grasp of marketing, sales, and accounting principles.
  • Ability to influence and build sustainable relationships within the BASF sales organization and with channel and independent partners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, complemented by strong analytical, strategic, and critical thinking capabilities.
