The incumbent will lead the Business Planning and Operations team in all aspects of data management and will provide the Home Entertainment Sales, Product Management and Channel teams with the necessary tools and fact-based insights to make data driven decisions. A key part of the mandate is to consolidate data management into centralized sources to assure the information is available and current at all times. The Business Planning and Operations Team will focus on four key areas to support the business and will act as a liaison between internal stakeholders to facilitate, perform and follow up on key deliverables to meet objectives and deadlines.

  • Monitor the Financial Health of the Home Entertainment (HE) division and lead communications within leadership at SECA and SEC HQ.
  • Analyze the market trends and performance of the TV, and Audio product categories, including but not limited to Market share trends and insights, projected market size and segment trends and projected Samsung Market share.
  • Improve and support the execution of sales related administration and key projects to drive the HE business including preparation of Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) and data insights to support sales discussions.
  • Provide efficient input of data to support the Product Management administration tasks and improve alignment on forecasting between sales and product management.
  • Managing the cores conditions and internal finance process.

Role and Responsibilities

Divisional Planning:

  • Lead the Business operations team to provide analytics to the HE leadership team to support the development of short, mid, longer term Strategic planning and ensuring financial health.
  • The Business planning team will provide monthly financial planning for HE Division including budget forecasting and profit simulations.
  • There will be ongoing monitoring of divisional Key Performance Indicators & provide status reports to the leadership team on all aspects including Profit & Loss management of HE division.
  • Will lead preparation of materials to support HQ communications and presentations between SECA Leadership & Global Business Management/North American HQ.

Product Category Planning:

  • Lead the Business Planning team to support of the TV/ Audio categories by providing insights and Market Analysis – for Total Addressable Market and sales trends & projections.
  • Ensure processes are in place to understand the competitive landscape and track changes within the market through analysis of opportunities and threats.
  • Assure that the Business Planning team is providing detailed category segment performance insights to allow the HE leadership team to build out strategies and plans.

Sales Support and Project Management:

  • Assess and improve the level of support being provided to the Sales team in areas of administration and execution.
  • Manage the Business Planning team to ensure all corporate sales related systems are current and completed in a timely manner.
  • Guide the Business Planning team in developing and maintaining Key Account Scorecard performance reports to evaluate the business with strategic partners and help isolate opportunities to grow our business.
  • Work with the Business Planning team to develop a robust project management mindset to monitor progress of key divisional projects / activities. Including developing tools and business rhythms to plan our business further out on the horizon and improve the execution through proactive planning.
  • Develop processes and tools to utilize consumer data and generate consumer insight analysis to help align product plans with marketing activations and investments.

Data Entry and Process Improvement:

Lead the Business Planning team to ensure appropriate level of support and efficiency for the Product management teams (TV, AV) with data entry into mandated corporate systems

    • (cores, special pricing etc..).
  • Build out systems and processes to monitor the execution and financial aspects of HE Marketing budget in support of divisional activities.
  • Guide the Business Planning team to establish effective analysis tools to improve the alignment of the sell out and sell in forecasting between the sales and product management teams and ultimately lead to improved AP1 / AP2 consensus management.

Skills and Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience preferred.

Knowledge:

  • Home Electronics background is a definite asset.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other MS Office applications.
  • Ability to productively interact with retail partners.
  • The ability to plan, organize and implement marketing projects and programs.
  • Ability to disseminate market information and provide the best strategic business plan.
  • The ability to negotiate with both vendors and customers on marketing proposals and plans.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and educate.
  • Ability to speak comfortably to crowds.
  • Ability to assist in long and mid-term business planning.
  • Ability to manage budgets and determine ROI.
  • Work with a sense of urgency.

Experience:

  • 5 or more years working in a Product/ Business Management role in the HE industry preferred.
  • Experience managing a team.
