Make your mark while you grow your career! Canadian Natural has an exciting opportunity for an Air Emissions Engineer to join our Environmental Group. Reporting to the Manager, GHG Reporting and Policy, you will be responsible to conduct analysis of GHG emissions and provide strategic recommendations to address evolving GHG policies and legislation aligned with the opportunities of the Canadian Natural emissions profiles.
- Job location: Calgary, Alberta
- Shift schedule: 5 x 2, 8-hour shifts

Key Accountabilities:
- Coordinate accurate GHG and air monthly, quarterly and annual emissions data and reports of mining, conventional and thermal operations assets for submission to internal and external stakeholders
- Work with federal and provincial governments to develop GHG management policies, strategies and regulations affecting Canadian Natural and the oil and gas industry
- Research, analyze and effectively communicate proposed regulatory changes that affect Canadian Natural’s operations to senior and non-technical audiences
- Represent Canadian Natural on key GHG and air management issues at industry associations and directly with regulatory bodies
- Work with project teams and operations to develop GHG emissions management strategies to improve compliance and cost effectiveness
- Work with joint working interest partners to evaluate net impact of emission reporting and forecasting
- Participate in internal analysis on provincial GHG compliance programs, including credit generation and management strategies
What You Bring to the Role:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, specifically experience in mining, cogeneration, upgrading and mine area fugitives
- A degree in engineering or a related discipline
- Knowledge of provincial and federal greenhouse gas reporting methodologies as it relates to Western Canadian oil and gas facilities and processes
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and communications skills, along with accuracy and attention to detail, are critical to this role
- Ability to summarize complex technical subjects into concise briefings/presentation for senior management
- Project management experience with ability to independently drive key responsibilities to conclusion is essential
- Ability to define and document key work processes and assumptions for transparency and workflow improvement identification
- Strong proficiency in data and database management, spreadsheets (Excel) and word processing (Word)
