The Senior Accounts Receivable Administrator is responsible for some billing tasks, overseeing the day-to-day billing and cash posting process of MHNL , as well as acting as back up to the manager.

Reporting to the Manager, Billing, major components of the position include assisting the manager with the implementation of the billing and collection policies assuring that the billing for ambulance services is carried out consistently with policies. Assessing and improving overall department performance is expected – both current and long term, to meet company objectives. This role requires demonstrated leadership, planning, organizing, directing, and motivating billing staff. In a capacity covering a broad range of duties, the mission will be to keep the overall operational status of the billing department fully functional while meeting or exceeding customer/patient expectations.

Responsibilities Include

  • Ensuring invoicing is completed daily by overseeing the primary billing process and processing all manual invoices.
  • Responding to any enquiries coming in from collection agency.
  • Taking escalated calls.
  • Reviewing and posting billing and payment batches.
  • Preparing reports and analyzing monies received.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Billing Manager.
  • Answering calls from patients to receive payments or answer questions related to invoicing.

Professional Qualifications & Competencies

  • A post secondary education in business would be considered an asset.
  • Minimum three years’ experience working in a billing environment preferably in the emergency medical services industry complimented by supervisory experience.
  • Experience with all aspects of accounts receivable and collections.
  • Strong technical abilities, be proficient in spreadsheet preparation and be comfortable in a computerized accounting environment requiring in depth knowledge of accounting system software and reporting tools.
  • Meticulous and self-motivated individual with exceptional organizational abilities.
  • Committed to providing stellar levels of customer/patient service and have a passion for business growth.
  • Possess and demonstrate leadership abilities with a proven track record for inspiring and motivating others.
  • Uses a positive and creative approach to problem solving.
  • Outstanding communication, negotiating, and dispute resolution skills.
