The Shoppe Retail Salesperson is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and driving sales within the boutique wine shop. This role involves assisting customers with their wine selections, maintaining a clean and organized store, and ensuring an overall positive shopping experience. The Salesperson will work closely with the Retail & Corporate Wine Manager to promote sales and create a welcoming atmosphere for guests.

This position requires a strong interest in wine, an enthusiasm for customer engagement, and the ability to communicate product knowledge effectively. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering top-notch service.

Salary

$19.00 per hour plus sales based commission

Reporting Chain

Reports directly to the Retail & Corporate Wine Manager.

Receives direction from any member of the Langdon Hall Management Team.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide personalized wine recommendations, pairings, and expert advice for an enjoyable shopping experience.
• Handle transactions efficiently while upselling products, wine packages, and special offers.
• Maintain store cleanliness, ensure shelves are stocked, and assist with merchandising displays.
• Stay informed on wine selections and educate customers on tasting notes, pairings, and serving suggestions.
• Collaborate with the team on store operations, inventory management, and sales goals.
• Build relationships with repeat customers and enhance engagement through proactive service.
• Monitor stock levels and report low inventory to ensure product availability.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills Required

• Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred.
• Interest in wine, with a willingness to learn about various wine styles, regions, and pairings.
• Wine education preferred, such as a Sommelier certification or other wine-related training.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Conditions and Physical Requirements

• Fast paced environment – must be able to work under pressure and be able to multitask.
• Physically fit, ability to lift up to 50lbs.

Must have own transportation and be eligible to legally work in Canada.
