DevSecOps Engineer with Snyk
3-4 days onsite Toronto, ON
Job Description/ Responsibilities
Pipeline Automation & CI/CD Orchestration
Design and Implement Guardrails: Build, configure, and maintain automated security touchpoints within the organization's CI/CD pipelines, primarily leveraging GitHub Workflows and Actions. Tool Orchestration: Act as the subject matter expert on how CI/CD orchestration tools function at an enterprise scale, ensuring security checks are seamless, non-disruptive, and highly efficient for developers. Pipeline Maintenance: Continuous monitoring and tuning of pipeline flows to minimize false positives, prevent build friction, and optimize scanning speeds.
Snyk Engineering & Platform Management
Ownership of Snyk Ecosystem: Drive the technical configuration, maintenance, integration, and scaling of the Snyk platform (including Snyk Code, Snyk Open Source, and Snyk Container). AppSec Process Automation: Automate end-to-end vulnerability ingestion and remediation workflows originating from Snyk. BAU Operational Support: Provide tier-3 engineering support for daily production issues, policy updates, agent/plugin upgrades, and integration health checks.
Required Technical Skills & Qualifications
Experience: 3–5 years of dedicated experience in Cybersecurity, DevSecOps, or Software Engineering with a heavy focus on application security. Hands on Snyk experience: Hands-on experience configuring, managing, and maintaining the Snyk platform at an intermediate to advanced level. CI/CD & Git: Proficient in building and debugging complex GitHub Actions/Workflows. Solid understanding of Git-based branching strategies and repository management. AppSec Testing Frameworks: Strong foundational knowledge of SAST and SCA methodologies, tool behaviors, and the OWASP Top 10. Automation/Scripting: Ability to write clean, maintainable scripts (e.g., Python, Bash, or PowerShell) to interact with Snyk APIs and automate operational tasks.
Soft Skills & Team Alignment
Collaborative Problem Solver: Ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering, DevOps, and Risk compliance teams. Developer-First Mindset: Understands that the best security tools are the ones developers actually enjoy using; focused on reducing friction. Strong Communicator: Capable of translating complex security vulnerabilities into clear, actionable remediation steps for software engineers.
