Senior Vice President, Commercial Real Estate
The Senior Vice President, Commercial Real Estate will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for driving operational excellence across a portfolio of commercial real estate assets in Canada. This role oversees all operational functions, including property management, leasing, asset management, administration, and tenant relations in order to drive financial performance, elevate tenant experience, and support long‑term value.
The Senior Vice President, Commercial Real Estate will lead a team of real estate professionals across multiple provinces, build scalable processes, and strengthen the company’s operating platform. The business leader will bring a pragmatic approach, and be able to build credibility within the organization and with external stakeholders through strong management, leadership and sound judgement.
Operational Leadership & Strategy Develop and execute operational strategies that enhance portfolio performance, tenant satisfaction, and asset value. Build and refine systems, processes, and KPIs to ensure consistent, high‑quality operations across all regions. Partner with ownership on long‑term strategic planning, capital allocation, and portfolio optimization. Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Represent the company with external partners, agencies, and key stakeholders. Asset Management Lead asset‑level business planning, including NOI optimization, capital planning, and risk management. Monitor market trends to inform leasing strategy, capital investments, and portfolio decisions. Property Management Oversight Lead all property management functions, ensuring buildings operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with provincial regulations and safety requirements. Implement best‑in‑class maintenance programs, vendor management practices, and service standards. Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for all operating assets. Develop and ensure successful implementation of the properties’ capital expenditures plans. Leasing & Tenant Relations Drive leasing strategy across the portfolio, working closely with internal teams and external brokers. Oversee negotiations for new leases, renewals, expansions, etc. to maximize occupancy and revenue. Champion a proactive tenant‑experience culture that supports retention and long‑term relationships. Investments & Development Identify, evaluate, and execute investment opportunities, ensuring preparation of detailed financial analysis and due diligence. Identify development opportunities within the existing portfolio and lead these projects working with external consultants.

Qualifications The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience in commercial real estate asset management, leasing or property management; a proven track record overseeing multi‑province portfolios; demonstrated ability to lead teams, build scalable processes, and drive operational performance; strong financial acumen with ability to identify opportunity and mitigate risk; and exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills. The candidate will be discreet, reliable, able to understand, and manage private and confidential financial information and display the highest level of professional integrity.
