About the role

Description KEY RESULT AREAS:

Performance Standards TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND OTHER

  • Take necessary readings of all system under supervision.
  • Monitor the low pressure blower
  • Verify temperature, pressure
  • Lubricate and clean filters
  • Start up and shut down
  • Monitor the boilers
  • Controlling, verify and repair
  • Test water and adjust chemical dosage
  • Repair steam system
  • Energy change over on demand (gas and oil)
  • Verify and repair the high pressure air compressors
  • Monitor the cooling tower
  • Start up and shut down
  • Verify and repair
  • Test water and adjust chemical dosage
  • Monitor the refrigeration system
  • Verify and repair
  • Start up and shut down compressors
  • Verify and repair the heating system
  • Monitor the ammonia systems
  • Ammonia reception and Ammonia dilution
  • Verify and repair
  • Start up and shut down ammonia compressor
  • Monitor the PH station
  • Verify and repair
  • Test water and adjust chemical dosage
  • Monitor the filtration plant
  • Verify and repair
  • Test water and adjust chemical dosage
  • Verify and repair the raw water pump house
  • Monitor and control the reception for products such as ammonia, sulfuric acid, molasses, etc.
  • Monitor the receiving of molasses
  • Monitoring and controlling the reception of loads of molasses, substrates and bulk materials
  • Performing, monitoring and controlling the transfers of molasses between tanks
  • Performing various tests to insure quality parameters
  • Cleaning/washing of the molasses handling equipment and department area

QUALITY & FOOD SAFETY

  • Remove all the tools and clean the surrounded area where the maintenance activity takes place, include excess of grease or lubricant.
  • Complete required production/operation/quality report
  • Comply with the GMP, HACCP, Quality and food safety Standards.

HUMAN RESOURCES

  • Comply with HR policies and procedures.
  • Comply with Union Contract policy and procedures.
  • Comply with relevant employment laws.

OTHER

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications A COMBINATION OF THE LISTED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE IS PREFERRED

  • 3B class license for boilers
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Refrigeration B license
  • Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, Quality and food safety Standards.
  • Ability to operate lift device
  • Manual ability and Welding ability
  • Good analysis
  • Ability to make quick decisions

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Exposure to manufacturing working conditions.
  • While performing his duties, the employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close visions, distance visions, color vision, peripheral visions, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee may occasionally work at heights and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
  • Exposure to industrial environment: noisy, hot, wet, humid, warm and cold.
  • Potential exposure to moving machinery, electricity and chemicals.
  • Must be able to handle/manipulate charge of 25 Kg or containers on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to work standing up 100% of the time and walk 75% of the time.
  • Physical flexibility required when repair of equipment and changes over.
  • Must be able to work in heights (catwalks, ladders, stairs, etc.).
  • Must be able to work alone.
  • Must be able to operate a lifting device.
  • Potential exposure to high pressure steam
  • Potential exposure to ammonia
  • Exposure to water treatment chemicals
  • Must be able to easily move to various locations to perform duties.

Other Factors

  • Overtime may be required.
  • Position works on shift schedule (8-hour and 12-hour).
  • Shift changes may be required.
  • Availability to work on rotating shifts when necessary.
