Our client, a company in the textile industry, is looking for a motivated Sewing Machine Operator Helper to join its team. You will assist the lead machine operator in machine setup, monitoring, and operation while helping ensure product quality and production efficiency.

Successful candidates must be available for a potential transfer to the Baie-d'Urfé facility, depending on business needs, to ensure operational continuity.

Responsibilities

-        Load threads onto the creels.

-        Clean the work area and remove thread waste.

-        Verify that bobbins are correctly positioned and that the filling yarn passes through the tension disc/bar.

-        Place bobbins that are no longer required into plastic bags and the designated container.

-        Using a computer, verify the colors required for each product.

-        Assist the machine operator.

-        Lift and handle thread rolls.

-        Unload completed mats.

-        Perform any other related duties as required.

Requirements

-        Minimum of 6 months of experience in the textile industry or a manufacturing environment.

-        Ability to perform physical work.

-        Ability to work in a noisy environment.

-        Ability to remain standing for extended periods.

-        Basic computer skills.

-        Must successfully complete a practical assessment on plain stitch and overlock sewing machines.

Salary: $19.00 per hour

Schedule: Day shift: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
