The Software Developer - Animation & Cinematic Tools designs, develops, and maintains software tools on multiple different environments and programming languages to support game cinematic content creation for producing trailers for our games. This ranges from high-level automation scripts to game engine animation or rendering code.

This is a hybrid remote/in-office role. You will report to the Sr. Technology Lead in the Marketing Content Production Craft team.

Responsibilities

  • You'll analyze user requirements and existing tools limitations to design and implement efficient software solutions that improve existing processes.
  • Deliver robust and scalable tools in different programming languages and development environments through version control systems for multiple creative purposes.
  • Autonomously investigate and understand complex game engine systems to fix code issues, optimize inefficiencies, and implement new features following strict quality and code reviewing policies.
  • Create technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with partner teams in developing shared solutions across different EA domains.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of professional software development experience as a software engineer in multiple types of software applications (desktop, web, game engines, plugins)
  • Experience with game engines such as Unreal, Unity or Frostbite, and animation/cinematic related tools
  • Experience with C++, C#, and Python
  • Expertise with source control software like Perforce or Git

Compensation And Benefits The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).

PAY RANGES

  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$100,000 - $139,500 CAD

In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
