About the role
- We’re looking for a detail-oriented individual to join our team and support and ensure our products meet the highest standards of functionality, reliability and performance. Develop and implement program quality plans, programs, and procedures using statistical quality control data, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses.
- You’ll play a key role in the software development lifecycle, collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance to standards, specification requirements and performance. Among your responsibility will include designing and executing test plans, identifying bugs, and improving the overall user experience through rigorous testing and feedback to ensure a seamless user experience.
- Ensures that program documentation and records are compliant with contractual requirements.
- Interacts with Program Management and Subcontractor Management organizations for related QA activities.
- Audits LM and external providers' Quality Management System for workmanship, deficiencies, effective corrective actions, and validation of compliance to company’s management system and compliance to ISO 9001.
- Assists with external audits at LM Canada sites.
- Generates and reviews audit reports for completeness and conformity to quality management system requirements.
- Reviews, analyzes and reports on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems.
- Investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies. Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met.
- Ensures that corrective action measures are effective and meet acceptable reliability standards.
- Supports CMS (Combat Management System) 330 Tech Refresh and engineering support.
- Supports Harbor Acceptance Trials and Sea Acceptance Trials.
What you bring to the role
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or diploma in a related field.
- Experience working in QA software test role or similar software development lifecycle (including requirements analysis, design, code, integration and test)
- Experience in Quality Management Systems (e.g., AS9100/ISO9001:2015)
- Experience with CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) Model
- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, processes and best practices
- Works well both in a team setting and independently
- Good communicator with excellent writing and computer skills; must be effective within all organizational levels, both internally and externally.
- Manufacturing / Production experience with Canadian military product, systems, specifications, and critical inspection processes
- Experience in implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to achieve program and/or company objectives.
