Job Description
Conducting material field testing such as field compaction testing, wet concrete sampling, and concrete and asphalt coring, as part of QC or QA programs. Assisting in conducting laboratory testing, primarily for soils and aggregate. Conducting drilling, sampling and factual data reporting for pavement and foundations designs Assisting laboratory manager in maintaining the laboratory in appropriate working condition. Maintaining a safe working environment by complying with all safety codes, guidelines, and regulations and indicated by Egis and Safety Officer. Participating in all assigned Health and Safety training programs. Attending in technical training programs as required. Maintaining strong and effective working relationship with Egis’ clients and subcontractors. Other duties as may be required.
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Construction Engineering & or Civil Engineering Technology. Secondary School Diploma will also be considered based on previous work experience, trade or training; Previous relevant experience is an asset; Available to work flexible schedules and travel to site locations for extended periods of time within Ontario; Able to lift and move samples and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. Demonstrated willingness to learn. Excellent oral and written communication skills; Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills and ability to think creatively; Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team; and Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance.
