32.5 hours/week – Effective immediately and extending until October 31, 2025
Certified Rate: $22.80-$29.80/hour - Uncertified Rate: $21.03/hour
The NCDSB Early Childhood Educators are school based professionals who collaborate with Kindergarten teachers to plan and deliver high quality early years programming that promotes each child's physical, cognitive, language, emotional, social and creative development and well-being. In Kindergarten classrooms, a teacher and an early childhood educator (ECE) share the responsibility to work together to plan and implement a developmentally appropriate educational program for Kindergarten aged children.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Two-year ECE Diploma and proof of registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators;
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years childcare experience in a childcare or educational setting;
- Knowledge of Ministry of Education full day early learning program and related legislation;
- Proven ability, experience and skill in working as a member of a team;
- Proven ability to communicate in a sensitive, courteous manner with children, parents, staff and the public;
- Proven commitment to maintaining confidentiality;
- Proven ability to effectively manage classroom behavioural concerns, and emergency situations;
- Experience planning and implementing emergent curriculum, play-based and child-driven environments;
- Basic computer skills, strong organization and time management skills and ability to meet deadlines;
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and move/carry equipment for program, and must be able to physically assist children as required (e.g. lifting);
- Ability to communicate fluently in English
- A Catholic Pastoral reference is required.
