Field Service Technician – Forklifts & Material Handling Equipment
Location: Thorndale, Ontario (Serving Southwestern Ontario) Wholesale Lift Trucks Ltd. is one of Ontario's leading independent material handling equipment dealers, specializing in the sales, service, rental, and refurbishment of forklifts and industrial equipment. As an Authorized Hangcha Dealer, we support customers across Ontario with new and used forklifts, planned maintenance programs, emergency breakdown service, parts, tires, batteries, and equipment certifications.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Field Service Technician to join our expanding team. If you're mechanically inclined, enjoy working independently, and take pride in delivering exceptional customer service, we'd like to hear from you.
What You'll Do
As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for servicing customer equipment at facilities throughout Southwestern Ontario.
Your responsibilities will include
Diagnose, repair, and maintain electric, propane, diesel, powered forklifts and other material handling equipment. Complete planned maintenance services, annual lifting device inspections, and safety inspections. Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, drivetrain, steering, braking, and mast systems. Perform warranty repairs and manufacturer updates when required. Communicate with customers regarding equipment condition, repair recommendations, and preventative maintenance opportunities. Coordinate with our Service Dispatcher to efficiently manage daily service calls. Work closely with the Parts Department to ensure required components are available before scheduled repairs. Complete digital work orders accurately and efficiently. Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked company service truck. Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a professional appearance while representing Wholesale Lift Trucks Ltd.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have
Minimum 3-5 years experience repairing forklifts, heavy equipment, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, or automotive equipment. Strong diagnostic abilities with hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems. Experience working on electric forklifts or electrical systems is considered a strong asset. Experience with lithium-ion battery systems is an asset (training available). Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and customer service abilities. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Valid G Driver's Licence with a clean driving abstract. Ontario 310S, 421A, Heavy Equipment Technician, or Red Seal Certification is considered an asset but is not required for experienced candidates.
