We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Business Optimization Advisor to join the Business Solutions Department in
Winnipeg, MB. You will responsible for driving continuous improvement to support improved and efficient performance across the
COO Business Units, through the implementation of prioritized initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Lead complex business unit initiatives: Plan, execute, deliver, apply critical thinking and analytical skills to assess strengths
and weaknesses, use data to show performance and identify opportunities, assess, and validate to determine if
countermeasures or solutions have successfully fulfilled requirements and recommend adjustments as required.
- Communicate and operationalize solutions, incorporating change management processes.
- Act as a point of contact for stakeholders outside of Operations and Asset Planning and Delivery.
- Support corporate strategic initiatives; lead, facilitate and coordinate Operations requirements.
- Lead and manage competing resources and priorities, monitor deliverables, and ensure timely completion of initiatives.
- Develop initiative teams, lead, direct work and effectively communicate requirements analysis, insights and plans to
cross-functional team members.
- Provide Business Optimization expertise and guidance, deliver on-going initiative support to internal customers across the
Operations and Asset Planning and Delivery Business Units.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships and knowledge necessary to assess and understand the longer-term,
strategic needs of internal customers.
- Develop, document, and communicate results through formal presentations to senior management.
Qualifications:
- A four-year degree in a related discipline from a university of recognized standing plus five years of directly related
experience;
OR
- A two-year diploma in Business or other relevant discipline including a minimum of seven years experience.
- Proven demonstrable experience, training or certification in process improvement, continuous improvement, Lean, Lean Six
Sigma and Six Sigma.
- Proven demonstrated directly related experience using continuous improvement methodologies and tools, including, but not
limited to, Lean, Lean Six Sigma, Six Sigma, process analysis tools, such as flowcharts, process maps, SIPOC, value stream
maps, standard operating procedures, and others.
- Three plus years of directly related business analysis experience includes process, data, cost-benefit, gap analysis in
supporting the delivery of projects in a cross-functional environment.
- Proven demonstrated direct experience and ability to break down and decompose complex processes and data sets and

ambiguous problems to tell meaningful business stories and effectively communicate complex analysis or results to leadership
teams.
- Excellent analytical, conceptual and system thinking skills with demonstrated aptitude and experience in ability to exercise
sound judgement when making decisions related to the development and implementation of impactful initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability in planning, organizing, and coordinating multiple activities within strict timelines.
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build trust & influence.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a broad network of internal stakeholders with the ability to establish and maintain
effective working relationships with senior management and staff throughout the corporation.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in enterprise IT applications and platforms; Strong skills with Microsoft Office,
including Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project.
- Proficiency with current software for collaboration, flowcharting, project scheduling and progress monitoring, and reporting.
- Comprehensive understanding and experience with key performance indicators would be an asset.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in strategic planning would be an asset.
- Knowledge of utility operational activities and requirements.
- Excellent understanding of Safety, Health & Environment standards, and policies.
Salary Range
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $43.35-$59.82 Hourly,
$83,070.78-$114,625.68 Annually.
