OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for developing and implementing best practices, policies, systems and processes for a range of human resource programs and services such as employee relations, collective agreement management, performance management, training and development, staffing and recruitment, employment equity, contract administration, health and safety, compensation, benefits, etc. Ensures programs are aligned with overall corporate strategies.

Responsibilities also include, providing leadership in the function and provide direction and guidance to the management team to incorporate best practices within the organization as it relates to the various Human Resources disciplines.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to: Human Resource Director

This role requires an individual that is able to support the program and team with:

Qualifications & Experience

  • Completion of university (bachelor) program with a focus on Human Resource Management.
  • 2 to 5 years in a supervisory position with an HR focus.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office.
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable employment laws and workplace health and safety regulations.
  • Thorough knowledge of Union agreements and the collective bargaining process.
  • Thorough knowledge of company administrative policies and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of PC's in the current company operating system environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Life’s Journey management team.
  • Excellent communication and computer skills.

The successful candidate will be subject to a Criminal Record Search and Adult & Child Abuse Registry Check.
