The Student and Educator Services Unit, Information Management and Support Branch of the Ministry of Education has an exciting and challenging opportunity for an individual committed to client service and continuous improvement. This fast-paced, high-volume unit is responsible for administering policies related to credit requirements for secondary level completion, maintenance of a central registry of student and educator information and transcript production.

The Ministry of Education is advancing reconciliation with early years, Prekindergarten to Grade 12, library, and First Nations, Métis and Inuit partners by acknowledging our shared history to build a brighter future together.

As a Configuration Analyst, you will work with a team to manage the Prekindergarten to Grade 12 (PreK-12) student and teacher database and related business processes including:

  • diagnosing and resolving technical issues;
  • preparing and executing test plans;
  • advising on changes or enhancements;
  • designing reports and processing XML data files;
  • providing tier 2 help desk support for provincial student information system regarding database operations and system requirements;
  • managing efficiency automations within our support model;
  • creating and maintaining SharePoint sites and access;
  • developing and delivering application training to system users, sector and the ministry; and,
  • developing resources including documentation and training videos for users.

Our candidate of choice will be innovative and have excellent problem solving and analytical skills, as well as superior communication skills to relay technical information to non-technical individuals. You will be able to work independently, as well as on a variety of teams. The knowledge required for this position is typically obtained through the completion of a degree in computer science. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Knowledge of the PreK-12 education system in Saskatchewan is required.
