Job Summary:

A Senior Nuclear Electronics Technologist is an experienced CTTAM (Certified Technicians and Technologists of Manitoba) Certified Electronic Engineering Technologist, reporting to the Head of Medical Physics.

The Senior Nuclear Electronic Technologist position is responsible for group supervisory tasks of one of two Service Groups: Radiotherapy or Imaging and Ancillary Equipment.

This position involves responsibility for both the operational supervision of and also the servicing and maintaining of equipment in the Radiotherapy and Imaging Service Groups within the Nuclear Electronics Section of the Medical Physics Department.

Qualifications:

Required:

Level of Formal Education & Experience

  • Graduate of a recognized two-year Electronic Engineering Technology Diploma program from an accredited technological institute or university.

  • Successful completion of vendor service training courses relevant to the area of work (as required by CNSC to independently service linear accelerators).

  • In-depth knowledge of Radiation Therapy, and Imaging and Ancillary equipment appropriate to the particular Service Group is required.

  • Leadership experience in relevant service areas is an asset.

An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Active member in good standing of an associated regulatory body as appropriate

  • Membership of CTTAM as either a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) or Applied Science Technologist (AScT).
