Overview of Position:
Cobra Mechanical is looking for a Sheet Metal Foreman to lead our Sheet Metal team. As a Foreman, you must possess strong leadership skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship. Successful candidates will hold their Journeyperson Certificate and have extensive hands-on experience in sheet metal installation across commercial, industrial, and residential settings. The Sheet Metal Foreman will oversee day-to-day work on-site, support apprentices and journeyman, ensure safety compliance, and maintain project timelines. Cobra Mechanical proudly serves Northern Manitoba communities as well as Winnipeg and surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coordinate, and oversee sheet metal crews on job sites
- Build and install HVAC systems in commercial, industrial, and residential applications
- Lay out, measure, and mark sheet metal according to specifications
- Work with appropriate equipment and tools to cut, bend, and form sheet metal
- Weld or fasten sheet metal components as required
- Verify quality of work and ensure all installations meet code and project standards
- Read and interpret sketches, blueprints, and specifications
- Support apprentice development through training, coaching, and mentorship
- Communicate with project managers, site supervisors, and other trades to maintain workflow
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 2–3 years experience in a leadership or foreman capacity
- Journeyperson Certificate in Sheet Metal
- Valid Driver’s License
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Proficient knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and sheet metal equipment
Other Qualifications:
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills and the ability to lead in a diverse environment
- Strong attention to detail and quality of work
- Ability to work under pressure and manage changing priorities
- Aware of the physical demands of the role
- Adherence to safety policies, procedures, and best practices
Work conditions:
Travel to off-site locations as necessary, ability to lift 50+ lbs, required safety equipment, hazards associated with the trade, work both indoors and outdoors, construction sites, noise, irregular hours, overtime as required.

Tyler Prevost founded Cobra Construction in 2009 as a general contracting company. In 2015, Prevost teamed up with his brother Shane and expanded the company by opening Cobra Structures, a second division to effectively serve customers with building solutions in a variety of industries.
In 2019, the Prevost brothers partnered with Norway House Cree Nation to form Bison Modular Homes. This company manufactures durable, quality modular homes that provide fire-resistant, mold-resistant, and rot-resistant building solutions to northern Indigenous communities.
