Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Night Position (0.7 FTE)
Position Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides compassionate, resident-centered care while working collaboratively with the healthcare team. This night position plays a key role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of residents during overnight hours.

Shift: Nights

Hours: 23:00 – 07:15
Key Responsibilities
-
Provide direct nursing care to residents in accordance with care plans and policies
-
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
-
Monitor, assess, and document residents’ health status and report changes
-
Respond to overnight needs, emergencies, and resident concerns
-
Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care
-
Support and guide Health Care Aides (HCAs) during the shift
-
Ensure a safe, calm, and supportive environment for residents
-
Maintain accurate and timely documentation
Qualifications
-
Current registration and in good standing with the provincial regulatory body (e.g., CLPNA in Alberta)
-
Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program
-
Current CPR/First Aid certification
Experience & Skills
-
Experience in long-term care or supportive living preferred
-
Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
-
Ability to work independently with confidence during night shifts
-
Excellent communication and organizational skills
-
Compassionate, reliable, and resident-focused
Working Conditions
-
Night shift work, including weekends and holidays
-
Physically demanding (lifting, standing, walking)
-
Fast-paced healthcare environment
