Senior Shoring Estimator - Permanent - 3265
About the role
Senior Shoring Estimator - Permanent - 3265
About the Opportunity
Some estimators price what the drawings tell them to. Some can design the answer and price it – driving the best solutions and results for their team.
This is contractor-designed shoring on major infrastructure, up to $15-$20M a scope. Your first principles, your method, your solution - delivered by crews who have built a long reputation for excellence in complex infrastructure.
You already know the work, but the real reason to continue reading is the group you’ll do it with.
This contractor started life as a specialist trenching and watermain outfit and has grown into one of Canada’s largest construction groups. This civil group’s ambition to self-perform across the whole civil landscape is leading them through extraordinary growth across verticals and regions.
With a massive pipeline of secured work, strong public-sector tailwinds, and a leadership team investing ahead of the curve. This is a group headed from strength-to-strength, and shoring is central to that continued growth.
This is your chance to get involved at a critical stage. Your pre-construction leadership shapes what they build next, and how far this partnership can take your career.
About You
You know shoring solutions from the top down. Not just what the standard detail says, but what works and what doesn’t. Handed a difficult problem, your passion is to engineer the solution.
The successful candidate will have the following
You’ve estimated shoring, excavation support, or deep foundations on serious civil and infrastructure work You’re fluent in the fundamentals: piles and lagging, secant and tangent walls, tiebacks, bracing, dewatering: and the ground that drives them You’ve owned contractor-designed scopes and stood behind the number You build the estimate with the crews who’ll deliver it, so method and price never argue
About the Job
You’ll own shoring scopes end to end – turning ground conditions and design intent into a competitive, buildable solution.
That means
Developing and pricing contractor-designed shoring for leading infrastructure schemes and partners Engineering the approach from first principles; method, sequence, temporary works, buildability Reading the geotech early to find the risk others miss and the solution others don’t Working shoulder to shoulder with engineering and field to keep method and estimate aligned
What you get back: the influence of a self-perform platform, the backing of one of Canada’s largest civil contractors, and a genuine chance to rise with a business that’s still climbing – in a place where you’re known by name, not number.
Competitive compensation: salary ranging from $140,000 to $190,000+
